Venezuelan Jazz singer and songwriter Raquel Cepeda presents “Take 5: Jazz, Venezuelan Style”, a concert to showcase the richness and beauty of Venezuelan music, often expressed non-binary rhythms, like 5/8. Traditional Venezuelan gems will be transformed into sublime jazz arrangements, incorporating the playfulness, harmonies, and improvisatory character of jazz music. The exquisite vocals of Cepeda join forces with the masterful arrangements of renown Venezuelan pianist William Sigismondi, both synergized by the execution of top musicians bassist Thomas Helton, drummer Adriano Santos, and sax player Ernesto Vega. The concert will also be presenting new original music by Cepeda and Sigismondi.
