If someone knows about passion is jazz singer Raquel Cepeda. A former Geological Engineer with a masters in Geological Sciences and a long career in the oil industry, who one day decided to follow her true inner compass and align herself with the gifts received by the Universe. In 2015 Cepeda left the corporate world behind in order to consecrate herself fully to music.

Originally from Venezuela, Cepeda grew up in a family of musicians and since her early life she balanced her world between music and science. During her early years of engineering at college she was already recognized as a singer of distinction, performing regularly around campus and winning an important vocal Festival in 1995, the "Ucevista Voice Festival". In year 2001 she participated in her first jazz recording project "Juegos de Playa", and in 2013 released a CD as a soloist. "I'm Confessin'". Raquel recently released her newest album "Passion - Latin Jazz", which has been included in the top 200 Jazz Albums of 2019 by the Roots Music Report.

Cepeda currently lives in Houston, where she is an in-demand jazz vocalist with a unique style, and a multi-cultural, multi-linguistic approach, derived of her love for languages and her long exposure and love for the Latin, Brazilian and American cultures. When Cepeda sings, she reaches the audience not only by speaking their own tongue, but more importantly, though an eloquent manifestation of melody, style, and message.

Cepeda has played at important stages in Houston, Caracas, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and shared stages with top figures like Elis Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis Paul English, and Joe LoCascio.
